According to the history and background of mountain bike technology, Hope Technology is known for engineering bicycle components among the best in the world. For over 25 years, the company has provided high-quality mountain bike components and a variety of accessories such as lights, brakes, tools, and riding gear.
There are tons of top brands like Shimano, SRAM, Hope, TRP, and Magura that manufacture bike components in the market. However, Hope Tech is a brand that comes to mind with extremely loyal riders. According to many riders, once they ride Hope, they can’t ride any other brakes. Therefore, every person has their perspective and choice regarding their ride.
Structure and brake system of Hope’s bike
Hope Tech brake 3 Lever is slightly heavier than the more pared-back Race option (around 40g) compared to other company brakes. However, it loses in weight and titanium hardware gains in on-the-fly adjustment, with tool-free reach and bite-point adjustment available via large glove-friendly dials. The lever goes with Shimano and SRAM shifters with separate mounts. Thus, the drilled lever does not only look insane, but they offer excellent grip in all conditions too. Talking about the shape and adjustment of the lever feels excellent whether it’s one finger pulls or 2.
And all of these components are made and designed at Barnoldswick Lancashire, United Kingdom.

Likewise, 2014’s Hope E4 has a one-piece caliper CNC-machined from forged T6 aluminium alloy. And it goes with four phenolic pistons pushing out some serious stopping power. Some of the riders also said that the caliper is just flawless, and they are easy to change pads and set up. The hinged clamp of the Hope brakes is easy to install, and that will help reduce friction internal sealing. Meanwhile, bite point and reach is genuine to adjust without tools.
Adding to the standard-fit sintered pads is excellent, so be sure that your brake pad will last longer a few rides, even in the worst conditions. Likewise, Shifters are also directly compatible with the Tech 3, so you can easily have a super clean cockpit. However, these Hope brake might be pricey, but they are everything you desire for.
Hope Brake performance
We already know that Hope brake has many followers and loyal fans. As their craftsmanship is excellent and product backup as well. Hope brake comes with a large lever and caliper, so I was expecting a lot of power on most trails. At the beginning of the path, the power feed-in is smooth rather than full of bite, so scrubbing speed is easy. This brake’s linear progression helps you feel like it tails off as you approach the top end of what’s available.
If you love floe trails, slalom courses, and downhill runs, these Hope brakes enable you to bail out if necessary or slow down a bit. The performance of these brakes has never changed in all types of weather conditions, from dry and dusty to raining and muddy.
Hope Brake’s
1. Tech 4 V4
Introducing the new Tech 4 V4 brake from Hope Tech. All brakes are manufactured in Hope Tech’s factory. 1700mm hoses come with both LH and RH. The Hope brakes are more competitive due to their design and craftsmanship. Tech 4 V4 comes with six standard Hope colours, including black, purple, red, orange, blue & silver. The V4 is regarded as one of the most powerful race brakes made by Hope and perfect for the most aggressive riders.
2. Tech 4 X2
This is the latest version of the glorious Hope Tech mountain bike brake range. This version is also designed and made in the UK. Compared to Tech 4 V4, X2 is less light and less aggressive. The LH and RH also come with a 1700mm hose as in model 4. The lever of this model is also to reduce friction internal sealing. The Axis of precision was machined from an aluminium forged billet.
3. Tech 4 E4
The newly Tech 4 E4 is another Hope Tech mountain bike brake range. The E4 comes in six different colours, including black, purple, red, orange, blue & silver, as E4 is the 4-piston Enduro/Trail brake. It is also regarded as a robust and controllable power that is not overly aggressive. Like other models, the LH and RH come with a 1700mm hose. The bite point and reach are easy to adjust without tools. E4’s lever is lighter, so it is easier to reduce fatigue and feel.

And one thing we don’t think is worth skimping on, then it’s your brakes. As we already know that this E4 hydraulic disc brake is a brilliant all-rounder and well suited to a wide range of bikes and riding styles. But the price is a little high, so, in the market, there are way cheaper or more powerful brakes out. And some of them can also match the HOPE based on ability, performance, and reliability.
Overall, we can say that Hope brakes are suitable for a wide range of bikes, from Cross-Country and trail bikes right through to heavy-weight Enduro sleds. Similarly, another reason to buy Hope brake is that they’re stunning! Beautifully anodized, unlike another brakesa available in the market.
